After a informative walking tour through the city’s storied Old Town, enjoy a day exploring the city of Munich and all it has to offer. Peruse the many shops and cafes located in the city’s extensive pedestrian zone. Visit a local beer garden in the picturesque English Gardens or take a day trip to one of the city’s dozens of world renowned museums.

In the evening an exquisite Farewell Dinner event will be put on for the group as we reflect on memories that will last a lifetime. A custom video, highlighting the best of your Bavaria & Beyond vacation, will premier at the start of this special evening. Passion Play

Today is the day we will see a production of the world-famous Oberammergau Passion Play! Since 1634, after being spared from the bubonic plague ravaging through the region, inhabitants of this quaint alpine village have been performing a play depicting the last days of Christ’s life. Still today the production is performed every 10 years by a cast consisting strictly of local participants. The play is broken up into two acts with a break for dinner which is included in your Bavaria and Beyond tour.

Godollo Palace and Hungarian Equestrian Show

A short drive outside of Budapest sits the beautiful Godollo Palace; the summer residence of beloved Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Josef and Empress Sissi of Bavaria. It is no wonder this idyllic countryside palace was one of Sissi’s favorite palaces. Afterwards we will visit the Lázár Equestrian Park where we will see the old Hungarian traditions of acrobatic horseback riding on full display. Enjoy a delicious Hungarian lunch and leisurely carriage ride around the beautiful grounds to conclude this relaxing day.

Arrival Day and Welcome Dinner

Shortly after landing at the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport you will be greeted by your Bavaria & Beyond tour guides. Enjoy a beverage on us as you get acquainted with your fellow travelers.  

Our first night’s stay will be on the shores of the Danube river directly across the Hungarian Palace of Parliament. After having time to settling-in and relax, a Welcome Dinner Reception will be hosted. Enjoy a delicious meal and take in the spectacular views of the illuminated Palace of Parliament across the river.
