Continue your Iberian journey with an optional add-on that traces Spain’s Moorish legacy and sunlit Mediterranean coast. Traveling from Seville, we’ll visit Ronda where iconic views await. In Granada, soak up the atmosphere of old Al-Andalus as you wander the intricate palaces and gardens of the Alhambra and its surrounding historic quarters. We’ll also take a trip to nearby Cordoba to visit it’s Moschee-Cathedral. Continuing on to Valencia, medieval streets open onto palm-lined plazas and a sparkling seafront. Arriving in Barcelona, modernist architecture, beachside promenades, and views of the Mediterranean await providing a memorable grand finish to what’s sure to be a great tour!

Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Ronda - Monday, September 28th
As our add-on to Barcelona begins, we spend our first day traveling to Ronda, one of Andalusia’s most dramatic hilltop towns. On arrival, enjoy a guided walk through the historic center, taking in whitewashed streets, elegant plazas, and the iconic Puente Nuevo bridge spanning the deep El Tajo gorge. Learn about Ronda’s rich blend of Roman, Moorish, and Spanish history as you admire sweeping views over the surrounding countryside. Following our visit, we travel eastward bringing us to the vibrant city of Granada.

Day 2 - Granada & the Alhambra - Tuesday, September 29th
Immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty of the Alhambra Palace and Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where intricate Moorish architecture and lush gardens unfold against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada. As evening descends, relish the vibrant atmosphere of Granada's lively squares, where the city's rich cultural tapestry comes alive through flamenco music and local flavors.

Day 3 - Coroba - Wednesday, September 30th
Our add-on adventure continues as we traveling to the captivating city of Córdoba, where Moorish, Roman, and Christian influences blend into a unique tapestry of history and culture. Wander through its enchanting streets, marvel at the iconic Mezquita, and immerse yourself in the rich heritage that defines this historic gem. That evening, we arrive in Granada, with time to settle in for a 2-night stay in this atmospheric Andalusian city.

Day 4 - Guadix Cave Homes - Thursday, October 1st
Traveling through changing mountain and countryside scenery, our first stop of the day is the iconic cave homes of Guadix. From there, we continue on to the hilltop town of Vélez-Blanco, where whitewashed streets and a commanding castle await. Here, we’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch break offering a taste of small-town Andalusian life. By late day, we turn toward the Mediterranean where our seaside accomodations await.

Day 5 - Valencia - Friday, October 2nd
Spend the day discovering the many sides of Valencia, where historic charm meets cutting-edge design. We begin with a guided tour of the old town, wandering through narrow streets, elegant plazas, and past landmarks such as the cathedral and former silk exchange. Then we turn toward the modern face of the city with a visit to the striking City of Arts and Sciences, whose futuristic architecture has become a symbol of contemporary Valencia. After getting nicely oriented, enjoy the afternoon at your leisure browsing the bustling Central Market, relaxing in a café, heading to the beach, or simply continuing to explore this vibrant Mediterranean city at your own pace.

Day 6 - Peñíscola & Tarragona - Saturday, October 3rd
Following Spain’s sunlit Mediterranean coastline, we embark on the final leg of our journey, heading north toward Barcelona. Our first stop is the fortified seaside town of Peñíscola, where whitewashed streets climb up to a hilltop castle overlooking golden beaches and the shimmering sea. From here, we continue along the coast to historic Tarragona, once an important Roman city, where a short walk reveals remnants of ancient walls, an amphitheatre by the water, and a charming old town of narrow lanes and plazas. As the afternoon unfolds, we travel onward, with a final pause in a coastal resort town to stretch our legs along the promenade or relax at a beachfront café. By day’s end, we arrive in Barcelona and settle into our accommodations, with the evening at leisure in the Catalonian capital.

Day 7 - Barcolona & the Basílica de la Sagrada Família, Sunday, October 4th
On the final day of our journey, we set out to explore Barcelona’s highlights, from its historic quarters to its elegant boulevards and lively plazas. A guided visit to the Basílica de la Sagrada Família forms the centerpiece of the day, giving us time to take in Gaudí’s extraordinary masterpiece from the inside. After the tour, enjoy free time to savor Barcelona at your own pace. In the evening, we’ll gather as a group one last time to reminisce about the memories we’ve made over the past days.

Day 8 - Departure Day - Monday, October 5th
For main tour guests, our journey through Spain comes to a close today. After breakfast, those departing will be transferred to Seville Airport for their flights home, carrying with them the memories of the past days. For guests continuing on the optional “Moorish Palaces & Mediterranean Shores” extension, the adventure goes on as we set out from Seville to begin the next chapter of our explorations.

Spain and Portugal - Main Tour
Our journey through the Iberian Peninsula begins in Madrid, where you’ll experience the capital’s grand boulevards, lively plazas, and rich cultural heritage before traveling north to Santander and tracing the rugged, scenic coastline of northern Spain. After discovering the highlights of Spain’s northern coast, we make our way into Portugal with a visit to Porto. From there, continue to Portuguese coast just outside of Lisbon. From there, we’re off to the sun-drenched shores of the Algarve before returning inland to Spain and soulful Sevilla. The tour concludes in coastal Málaga, with comfortable multi-night stays along the way that allow you to relax and fully enjoy each region through enriching day excursions.
