As Germany's largest annual Christmas Market it has something to offer for everyone. Take in the festive scent of roasted almonds which fills the air. Explore the seemingly endless aisles of traditional stands that would have Scrooge himself walking away filled with the Christmas spirit!

Step back in time as you visit the medieval walled towns of Dinkelsbuhl and Rothenburg; arguably the most beautiful along the famous Romantic Road. Spend the afternoon perusing Rothenburg’s Christmas Market or take a walk along the city’s walls. After a leisurely day spent discovering the town, make the short trip down the Romantic Road for a historic tour of Dinkelsbühl.

Enjoy a day spent discovering Franconian Christmas traditions in Bamberg. Take in the beauty of the Old Town Hall which clings to the city’s medieval bridge. Try a glass of the famous “Rauchbier” or “smoke beer” direct from the wooden barrel while visiting the over 600 year-old Schlenkerla brewery.

The enchanting Leipzig Christmas Market rivals Nuremberg as one of the largest in Germany. With over 250 stalls and six markets located in close proximity there is plenty of Christmas cheer to be found. Some highlights include: daily trombonist performance from the City Hall balcony, Leipzig Model Railway Exhibit, Finnish Village, and a fairytale forest.

Located at the base of the city’s two awe-inspiring domes, the Erfurt Christmas Market is sure to impress! Marvel at the beauty of the city’s picturesque architecture as you wander the fairytale pedestrian streets. A must see is the Kramer Bridge and its half timbered homes, sandwiched across its span.

Enjoy a leisurely day discovering the cultural and historical significance of Weimar. This small town, once a focal point of German culture during the 18th century, was home to giants of the Enlightenment such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schriller whose ideas spread around the globe. However, a lesser known export of Weimar is the Christmas tree. Legend has it, the first ever public Christmas tree was erected by a local shop owner in 1815.

Learn more about Weimar’s storied past as our day begins with a locally guided tour. Visit sites within the city that boasts three UNESCO World Heritage Sites and over 16 UNESCO objects.

Guests will have the afternoon to themselves. Book a horse and carriage ride around the town. Visit the delightful shops and boutiques scattered throughout pedestrian zone. A visit to the Goethe National Museum or Bauhaus Architecture museum is sure to delight the arts & culture enthusiast. History buffs can visit the city museum where they will learn more about the founding of the Weimar Republic and the pivotal role it played early 20th century German national history.  For guests seeking another type of history, the sobering Buchholz Concentration Camp Memorial Site is a short 20 minute drive from the city center, with public busses departing hourly.

Be a part of  history as we visit the 585th Dresden Striezelmarkt Christmas Market. Known as the oldest Christmas market in Germany, the Striezelmarkt focuses on the unique Christmas traditions of Saxony and the surrounding regions. Take a stroll through the seemingly endless rows of wooden huts selling locally crafted Christmas goods such as; nutcrackers, wooden incense smokers, christmas pyramids and arches. Discover the region where many of the goods found at Christmas markets throughout Europe originate.

Wake up and find yourself in the heart of Prague’s Old Town. Enjoy a short walking tour and learn the history of this beautiful medieval city. Take in the sights of the world famous Charles Bridge and experience Czech Christmas Market traditions. Enjoy the city during the festive holiday season when markets are in full-swing, holiday cheer is at a high and the summer crowds are absent.

Visit the bohemian town of Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic. This historic town, with its perfectly preserved medieval, baroque, and renaissance styled homes, is one of the country's most beloved travel destinations. Take a trip back in time as you peruse the extraordinary castle courtyards, gardens, and towers while catching a glimpse of the castle's bear guarded moat. The fairytale-like charm and intriguing history of Český Krumlov has led to the whole town to be named a UNESCO Heritage Site.

Passau known as the “Dreiflüssestadt” or "The City of Three Rivers", is the hidden gem of Bavaria. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz rivers as you explore this historic merchant city. Located directly in the heart of the city is the St. Stephen’s Cathedral which is the perfect backdrop for Passau’s idyllic Christmas Market.

From the Sound of Music city we make our way east, where we visit the markets of Austria’s capital city; Vienna. Upon arriving in the Imperial city, once the capital of the Hapsburg Empire, we will visit Schoenbrunn Palace. Here guests will enjoy an informative guided tour of the palace which was home to the beloved emperor Franz Josef and his Bavarian bride Sissi. Following our tour, guests may peruse the royal Christmas Market located directly in front of this world-renowned palace.

Upon the conclusion of our Schoenbrunn Palace visit ,we will head to the heart of Vienna and visit the cities largest market with the imposing Town Hall as its backdrop.

Discover the city Mozart called home on the Salzburg City Christmas Market Tour. Get acquainted with this cultural treasure as your guide leads you on a short walking tour of the Old Town district. Sights along the way include Mozart Square, The Sound of Music Fountain, Mozart's birth house, St. Paul's Cathedral, General J. Collins grave, and finally the Hohensalzburg Castle.

After learning the lay of the land, enjoy free time to visit the city's sights and shops at your leisure. A must-see is the city's elaborate Christmas Market, located at the base of the Hohensalzburg Fortress, just in front of the Salzburg Cathedral. The Market's 95+ vendors are sure to offer a little something for every taste!
