Arrival in London - Sunday, September 8th

Welcome to London! Upon arriving at Heathrow International Airport you will be greeted by Jake and Pete; your Bavaria and Beyond guides. Enjoy a drink and mingle with fellow travelers as the group assembles at the designated meeting point.

A direct transfer in our private coach bus will bring the group to our centrally located 4-star hotel on the banks of the River Thames. Following check-in, guests will have time to settle-in to their fine London accommodations before a Welcome Dinner Reception is hosted.

London Sightseeing with Imperial War Museum - Monday , September 9th

Enjoy a day of sightseeing around London getting acquainted with this historic city. In the afternoon visit the renowned Imperial War Museum, gaining our first insights into the impact of WWII on this country and the world.

RAF Duxford and Bletchley Park - Tuesday, September 10th

Embark on a fascinating day trip that seamlessly weaves together two iconic chapters of British history. Begin your journey at RAF Duxford, where the echoes of World War II aviation resound through its meticulously preserved aircraft and exhibitions. Then, venture to the historical haven of Bletchley Park, immersing yourself in the secrets of World War II codebreaking and experiencing the birthplace of modern computing.

Portsmouth D-Day Story Museum and Historic Dockyard Visit - Wednesday, September 11th

Today we head south towards the English Channel and the city of Portsmouth. We start with a visit to the Historic Dockyards, delving into the rich maritime history of England. Afterwards, enjoy a nice lunch before we head to the Portsmouth D-Day Story Museum. Immerse yourself in the exhibits that narrate immense preparations and bravery of the sailors and soldiers who took part in the largest amphibious invasion in history.

English Channel Ferry Crossing and Pegasus Bridge - September 12th

Today we depart early in the morning on our ferry to Normandy, tracing the historic D-Day Armada route. Upon our arrival in Normandy we will visit Pegasus Bridge, the site of the first military action before the D-Day landings.

Sainte-Mère-Église, Airborne Museum and Utah Beach - September 13th

A visit to Utah Beach in Normandy, France, offers a reflective experience as you walk along the historic shoreline where the D-Day landings took place on June 6, 1944. The site is a powerful reminder of the Allied forces' sacrifices and the pivotal role played in the liberation of Europe. Nearby, the charming town of Sainte-Mère-Église preserves the memory of the first town liberated by American paratroopers. Bastogne - Battle of the Bulge - September 19th

Today we visit Bastogne, Belgium, where the Bois Jacques Woods foxholes stand as a poignant reminder of the Battle of the Bulge. Explore the town's museums, including the Bastogne War Museum, which provides a comprehensive insight into the historic events of the battle. After a nice lunch in town, enjoy free time or visit the privately owned 101st Airborne Museum.

Operation Market Garden - September 20th

Crossing the border into the Netherlands we will visit the historic sights of Operation Market Garden, a daring Allied military operation during World War II. Conclude the day with a sense of reverence for the sacrifices made in pursuit of freedom, before arriving at our accommodations in Haarlem located just outside Amsterdam.

Amsterdam and Farewell Dinner - September 21st

Enjoy a day in free day in Haarlem or Amsterdam walking along the picturesque canals or visiting one of the many world-class museums both the cities have to offer. In the evening we will join together for our a Farewell Dinner Reception where we will look back on our travels together.

Departure Day - September 22nd

Enjoy a continental breakfast before saying goodbye to friends made on the 80th D-Day Anniversary Tour. Just a short drive from our accommodations in Haarlem sits the Schipol International Airport with many direct flights departing for the USA.

Those continuing their travels on the Netherlands Add-On will visit the charming canal village of Geithoorn and Palace Het Loo.
