Arrival Day - Saturday, December 3, 2022

Grüss Gott (hello in the local Bavarian dialect) and welcome to the start of your Bavaria & Beyond vacation! Upon arriving at the Munich International Airport, your Bavaria & Beyond guides will be waiting to greet you. Enjoy a complimentary beverage and mingle with your fellow travelers as our group assembles at the designated airport "Treffpunkt" or meeting point.

Once the group is completely gathered, we will pack up and depart for beautiful Garmisch via a private coach bus. Our "express check-in" process will ensure that you quickly and comfortably settle-in to your new Bavarian "home-away-from-home". After a short break to relax and unpack, a Welcome Reception will be hosted. Enjoy an all-inclusive meal with delicious local delicacies and of course, Bavarian Bier! During the reception all the necessary information will be distributed to ensure a smooth start to your Bavaria & Beyond vacation!

Tyrolean Christmas - Sunday, December 4, 2022

Just a short ride south through the breathtaking Bavarian Alps sits the Austrian State of Tyrol. It is here we will spend our day visiting some of the regions beloved small-town markets. These quaint markets often take place just one or two weekends each holiday season. To make things even better, December 6th is St. Nikolaus Day; a holiday celebrated with many intriguing traditions throughout the Alpine regions.

Munich Christmas Tour - Monday, December 5, 2022

Discover the many markets of the Bavarian Hauptstadt, the capital city, Munich. Our visit begins with a stroll around the city’s historic Old Town. Towering over the town stands the Frauenkirche cathedral with its characteristic onion shaped domes overwhelming the Munich skyline. A short stroll from there will bring us to Marienplatz for the city's world famous bell play. Savor the many sights and delicious smells of the market square. Warm up while enjoying a hot Glühwein or visit an authentic Bavarian beer hall filled with Gemütlichkeit.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen Tour - Tuesday, December 6, 2022

Enjoy a day discovering the best of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Learn the story behind historic homes and the magnificent fresco murals adoring their facades. Your local guides will bring you to the town’s popular attractions as well as the lesser known corners of town. Of course, no visit to Garmisch during the holiday season would be complete without a stop at the town’s bustling market with special events taking place daily.

Ulm and Tübingen - Wednesday, December 7, 2022

Today we depart Garmisch and make our way to the beautiful medieval town of Tübingen. Enroute we will be visiting the Ulm Christmas Market. This large and diverse market sits at the base of the beautiful Ulmer Münster, which lays claim to having the tallest church steeple in all of Europe.

Ludwigsburg Palace and Christmas Market - Thursday, December 8, 2022

The Residential Palace, known as the “Versailles of Swabia”, is one of the largest Baroque buildings in Europe to survive in its original condition. After taking in the beauty of this historic Palace we will walk out the front entrance and be in the heart of the Ludwigsburg Christmas Market.

Esslingen - Friday, December 9, 2022

Surrounded by picturesque vineyards and historic architecture, the Esslingen Christmas Market is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit. In addition to this beautiful setting, Esslingen also offers one of the most extensive medieval craftmanship markets. Enjoy time perusing the many stalls and appreciate the ancient trades that are still being passed down.

Black Forest Baden-Baden - Saturday, December 10, 2022

Enjoy breathtaking scenery as we travel into the mystical Black Forest. Here we find our destination for the day: the quaint spa town of Baden-Baden. Filled with thermal baths, ornate villas, luxury hotels, and a wonderful Old Town; a day spent discovering Baden-Baden is sure to be a good one. Following our visit, we continue on over the French border to our new accommodations in the Christmas village of Colmar, France.

Strasbourg, France - Tuesday, December 13, 2022

Before we say “au revoir” to France we will visit the historic city of Strasbourg. The Old Town Centre was the first ever to be awarded an UNESCO world heritage designation. Take a leisurely stroll along the romantic canals and admire the medieval architecture the city is famous for. Of course, there will be plenty of time to visit Strasbourg’s Christmas Market to get one last French pastry before heading to Heidelberg!

Historic Worms - Wednesday, December 14, 2022

The beautiful city of Worms is full of history. Learn about the Protestant Reformation and Martin Luther’s unfortunate time spent in the city during the “Diet of Worms”. The Reformation sent shock waves across Europe and altered history throughout the world. After getting your fill on Luther history, enjoy lunch and free time perusing the Worm’s Christmas Market.

Heidelberg Free Day and Farewell Dinner - Thursday, December 15, 2022

Enjoy a leisurely day exploring Heidelberg at your own pace. Whether you choose to take a ride on the funicular train up to the Heidelberg Castle or just want to meander Europe’s longest pedestrian zone window shopping, you can’t go wrong. In the evening there will be a Farewell Dinner where the group will be able to reminisce on all the fun memories made during the trip.

It’s time to load-up and head home with memories to last a lifetime. Our private coach will meet us directly in front of the hotel delivering us to the Frankfurt Airport, in time for many international flights. Squeeze in one last goodbye as your Bavaria & Beyond tour comes to a close.
